**Updated info for this years Great AZ Beer Fest in Tempe**
The 2011 Great Arizona Beer Festival is coming to Tempe Beach Park THIS Saturday, March 5th. Hurry to get your Great Arizona Beer Festival Tickets prior to the 5th and save yourself some cash. Before Saturday, general admission tickets to the Tempe Beer Festival are just $40.00 ( vs $50 on Saturday ). If you are the VIP type, tickets are just $80.00 ( vs $90 at the gate ). When you enter, you will be given a souvenir tasting mug that might appear small for a beer glass. Trust me, they fill up fast, pace yourself and enjoy some of the great food and entertainment while enjoying your day.
According to the Great AZ Beer Fest site: “General admission and VIP tickets include entrance to the event, a souvenir tasting mug, 24 sampling tickets and enjoyment of live music on stage. VIP tickets include entry to "The VIP Experience” with private VIP seating area with catered food, lounge, VIP-only restrooms, early admittance (1pm), a free event tee shirt and a gift bag.”
If you think you like beer, this is where you will want to be on Saturday. For 2011, the Great AZ Beer Fest will be featuring OVER 200 BEERS on the shore of Tempe Town Lake! In fact, we are told that they have “235 brews and counting!”

So, how do you get to the beer festival at Tempe Beach Park? That’s the easy part. You’ve heard about our super-cool METRO light rail system, right? Just hop on that sucker at any one of the FREE park and ride lots and head to the Mill Avenue Light Rail Station. From there, it’s just a block north to the lake! Remember, an all day pass for the METRO is just $3.50!
On the map below, you can see where the Mill Avenue Station is, the ray of sunshine represents the beer festival. Of course, we used that because the weather is supposed to be perfect this weekend. It did rain for the 2010 Arizona Beer Festival just like it rained for the recent Strong Beer Festival in Phoenix. Yep, tickets are non-refundable, rain or shine.
