This year we will be delivering turkeys to the Salvation Army as part of the 3TV Big Guy Turkey Drive on November 18th. Yes, I said November 18th, and, no, that isn’t much time to raise money, so PLEASE contact me SOON if you are able to help.
We chose to work with Channel 3 TV this year after hearing some great things about how they help the Phoenix Salvation Army provide for needy people within our community. I sincerely hope you will join us! Please note, you can also participate by dropping off your own turkey on Nov. 18th at The Salvation Army located at 27th Street and Van Buren. The physical address is 2707 E. Van Buren, Phoenix. ( not far from the light rail station at 24th and Washington )
I know that many people have a desire to help others this time of year but find it difficult to do so because our lives are so busy. If you would like to help by making a financial donation, we will do all of the work for you! I’ll be purchasing frozen turkeys Thursday afternoon to deliver to the Big Guy Turkey Drive. (I can provide receipts if needed.)
If you are able to donate one dollar or a hundred ( or more), I am able to purchase frozen turkeys all at once for delivery to the Salvation Army on Thursday the 18th. Over the years, we have found this the easiest way to help the most people. I can give you my address or I can pick up donations up until about 2pm on Thursday the 18th. You can always email me at nick (at) RailLife (dot) com. I am also available via Twitter and Facebook so please get in touch if you are able to help! I am out and about a LOT, so it makes picking up your donation very easy! If you are in Tempe, donations can also be dropped off at my office between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday, just let me know if you need directions. ( See map below for more donation location options.)
Last year, with the help of my friend Rob, we were able to deliver over 1100 pounds of turkey for needy families! Big thanks to Rob Sell at Sell Home Inspections for all he does. Rob ( and his truck ) is a huge help in hauling all of these birds. We both have a BLAST delivering turkey every year and want to thank everyone for your donations to such a great cause.
This is part of my 8th annual turkey drive! Please help with what you can as every single penny is GREATLY appreciated. We want to make it easy for everyone to help others this Thanksgiving. I would also like to wish you and your families a wonderful holiday season!

Drop off points: We have a few different drop off points to help make it easier for you to donate money. Remember, any amount helps. We buy turkey at the seasonal sale price so even $5-$10 dollars can be very helpful. The map below shows where a few of our friends are located. If you are a business or organization ( that I know and trust ), please let me know if you would like to help us out with our turkey drive so that we can add you to the map. Even if one of these locations isn’t convenient, please contact me and I’ll be glad to meet you. Thanks so much for all of your generous help over the years. Together, we are able to help a lot of people.

Nick, I have a frozen turkey I’d like to donate. Your article says the 18th, which is tomorrow, Friday, but you also say Thursday. Is the dropoff day TODAY? If so, I’ll be driving out to Scottsdale anyway so I can drop off my turkey. If it’s tomorrow, I’ll need to make other arrangements since I’m having my carpet cleaned and won’t be able to leave the house. I’m at Central and Glendale so the Van Buren location is easiest for me. Please let me know ASAP if I can drop it off today.
Thank you for all your work on this!!!
