Should they “wrap” the rail?

September 5, 2008 by Rail Life Leave a Comment

A long time ago, (maybe a year or so) I went to a Metro “Line Section” meeting where they discussed the fact that there will not be any advertising inside of the light rail cars. The thought was to leave the cars ad free in the beginning and leave it open for discussion. Fast forward several months and I started hearing talk of having the cars “wrapped” with logos. (in the future) Talk about a change in attitude.

So, my question for this Friday afternoon would be this. What companies would be best suited for wrapping the cars? You know it would cost a fortune but it would also get in front of a TON of eyeballs. Major employers? ASU? Suns or Diamondbacks? Restaurants? Any ideas? Do you think it is a good idea or is it “tacky?”

Who knows, it might never happen but I just thought it was interesting. Call me crazy, it’s Friday. 🙂
