Without a doubt, Phoenix light rail riders love their sports. Suns fans, Diamondbacks fans, Mercury, Rattlers, Sun Devils and now, the Phoenix FC professional soccer team is coming to Tempe to play near the Rural and University light rail station.
“With this location, near the northeast corner of University Drive and Rural Road, Phoenix FC looks to make an immediate impact and draw sell-out crowds of soccer enthusiasts across Arizona.”
Todays headline reads: “Sun Devil Athletics Teams With Phoenix FC On Stadium Agreement.” The team will begin playing soccer at the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in 2013 and will invest in expanding the seating capacity by more than 4000 additional seats.
