The June 2012 METRO light rail ridership numbers are out and METRO failed to hit the magic 1 million boardings number for the first time this year by coming in at 995,109.
June 2012 ridership numbers look like this:
Total Boardings for June: 995,109 vs 1,118,598 in May:
Avg. Weekday Boardings: 36,515 vs 40,111 in May:
Avg Saturday Boardings: 29,016 vs 31,448 in May:
Avg Sunday / Holiday Boardings: 20,804 vs 22,075 in May:
The light rail ridership numbers for June of 2011 were 924,547 which means this month was 7.6% higher than last year. Not bad.
It will be interesting if the 1 million mark is hit for July of 2012. Last year, they fell a bit short but if they can get another 7 or 8% increase over last year, it could happen. Stay tuned.
