The Downtown Phoenix Public Market simply rocks. The addition of the Urban Grocery & Wine Bar was a match made in Heaven. This week, the Urban Grocery & Wine Bar is turning TWO! Yes, there will a party, and yes YOU should be attending. It’s no big secret that I, along with MANY others, LOVE what they are doing at the Market. A bunch of awesome people have put blood, sweat and tears into this project and the rewards are many. Come celebrate with food, beer and music. How can anyone say no to that? 🙂 Below is the info straight from the Market. Take a look!
Urban Grocery & Wine Bar at the Phoenix Public Market Turns 2!
PHOENIX – The Downtown Phoenix grocery store, Urban Grocery & Wine Bar at the Phoenix Public Market, will celebrate its 2nd anniversary with a new mural, food specials, a beer tasting and live music on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 4 pm to 8 pm. The event will coincide with the Phoenix Public Market’s regularly scheduled Wednesday evening Open Air Market.
In celebration of the anniversary, a contest was conducted to select a local artist to paint a mural on the west-facing wall of the Urban Grocery. Joseph "Sentrock" Perez was selected as the winner of the Community Mural Contest. The winning artist was determined by a combination of votes by the public via Facebook and Twitter and a Market Selection Committee.
The celebration on November 2 will feature birthday cupcakes by Tracy Dempsey Originals, $3 food truck specials (including birthday themed ice cream from Sweet Republic), and a special "Wines & Weiners" pairing provided by Sand Reckoner Vineyards and Short Leash Hot Dogs. There will also be live music by Dan Sell and a Sonoran Brewing Beer Tasting.
The Urban Grocery & Wine Bar is open Tuesday through Saturday, 7 am to 8 pm.
