West 6th will be open before we know it, bringing hundreds of new residents to the Mill Avenue District. Local merchants seem to be pretty excited about the potential for so many new customers to converge upon the area. The only concern I am hearing is the lack of a nearby grocery store, but some expect something to pop up fairly soon.
If you haven’t been paying attention, you might not be familiar with the story of West 6th which is the former Centerpoint Towers project. The buildings amenities are top notch and leasing demand has been very high with the first tower rumored to be over 80% leased at this point. In fact, the second tower has started taking reservations and is said to also be seeing a good deal of demand. While the projected August 1 opening was a good move on the developers part to take advantage of ASU students looking for a place before the fall semester starts, the second tower, and the first for that matter, is drawing interest from a wide variety of people. Young professionals, empty nesters, and more have been drawn to one of the most “urban” environments in Arizona.

WEST 6TH TEMPE OPENS PERMANENT LEASING OFFICE IN PREPARATION FOR NEW RESIDENTS
Construction fence removal opens front plaza signifying clear signs of project progress
TEMPE, Ariz. (July 14, 2011) – West 6th Tempe reaches another milestone as the innovative, high-rise apartment community prepares to welcome its first residents into Tower I on August 1, 2011. Officially opening today is the new, permanent leasing office for West 6th Tempe, located at 115 West 6th Street, Tempe which is the first floor of the 22-story building. Complementing the official leasing office opening, a portion of the perimeter construction fence that has surrounded the project will be removed creating direct access to the leasing office and welcoming pedestrians to the community plaza.
The interim leasing office located at the corner of 6th Street and Mill Avenue, served as a fully functioning office from March through July as the permanent location was constructed. To ease the transition for consumers, new signage was installed this week to direct traffic to the new, permanent location where all community business functions are now conducted.
“The new leasing office is a stunning, multi-functional space for West 6th Tempe staff and residents,” says Kent Chantung, director of development for West 6th Tempe developer Zaremba Group. “The unique and distinctive finishes of the leasing office are replicated throughout the property setting elevated yet realistic expectations for a living experience and giving guests an accurate visual representation of the community as a whole.”
The 4,000 square-foot leasing office is designed as an effective workspace with four private offices for property management and staff, a conference room comfortably seating ten and a reception desk in the foyer to welcome guests and answer quick questions. Uncommon for most apartment leasing offices, the West 6th Tempe space is also a lavish gathering spot for residents. Encouraging residents to stop in are multiple TV viewing areas with 40 and 55-inch flat screens, a fully stocked coffee bar and relaxed lounge area.
Resident services such as a concierge service and a courtesy safety patrol as well as all community resident life and leasing activity will be managed from the new leasing space. To comfortably accommodate these activities for new West 6th Tempe residents, the leasing office is hiring three more leasing agents to add to their current staff of six.
