Well, the pic of the week almost HAS to have something to do with the All Star game in Phoenix. Without a doubt, there has been a lot of people “riding the rails” downtown to see and be a part of this huge sporting event. Today, I walked by the ball park, the convention center and over to CityScape and saw baseball a LOT of baseball fans.
While the weekend seemed to have a lot of activity, I’m sure the home run derby and the actual All star game will bring a ton of excitement.
As a reminder, there will be a slight change in METRO’s light rail service on Tuesday:
“During the MLB All-Star Red Carpet event on Tuesday, July 12, from 10 – 1:30 p.m., METRO will transition from 12 to 20-minute service. Riders traveling eastbound to attend this event should disembark at the 1st Ave./Jefferson station; the 3rd St./Jefferson station will be closed. It will re-open immediately following this event.”
One pic that I regret not taking was of the sign that said “Event Parking: $20.” The sign was directly across from the light rail station at 3rd and Washington. Of course, it’s free to park at a park and ride lot. 🙂
Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics or videos of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
