With Phoenix and Tempe both having two of the Valley’s biggest and best 4th of July celebrations along the line, tens of thousands of people will choose to ride the trains to the Freedom Wireless Fabulous Phoenix 4th and the July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival.

METRO will be expanding their 4th of July service to “every 10 minutes” beginning at approximately 5pm and will have their last full trips at midnight. If you are new to riding the Phoenix light rail trains, you should know that the Park and Ride lots are free of charge and you can purchase an all day pass for just $3.50. ( Youth and senior discounts are available. )
The Phoenix 4th of July celebration is FREE for all to attend, and the Tempe 4th of July party is $8.00 at the gate. Children 12 & under are FREE as are people with a military ID. Early tickets are on sale at discounted prices in Tempe. $60.00 VIP tickets are also available, see the Tempe4th ticket page for complete details.
So, what can you expect at the Phoenix and Tempe 4th of July celebrations?
In Phoenix, they will be rockin’ The Tom Petty Experience as well as enjoying:
• Over 50 booths of tasty festival foods and beverages, community information, and displays.
• A Kids’ Zone filled with inflatables and activities for kids
• Phoenix Fire Department Spray Zone and Hurricane Beach to cool you off.
• One of the largest fireworks displays in the state of Arizona. Fireworks! 9:30 – 9:55
In Tempe, there will be a splash zone, kids activities, and rock climbing wall, proceeding the 45 minute fireworks show that will be launched from the Mill Avenue Bridge. There will also be live entertainment of the main stage, food vendors and fun for all ages.
Getting to either 4th of July event is easy! Phoenix and Tempe both encourage you to ride the light rail to see the fireworks celebrations. The Indian School station and the Mill Avenue stations are very convenient to the shows. ( Get complete bus and light rail travel information from the city of Tempe. Includes road closures, etc. )

WHERE: Steele Indian School Park and Tempe Beach Park.
WHEN: Monday, July 4th, 6-10pm in Phoenix. In Tempe, gates open at 4pm.
WHY: Celebrate our country’s independence!
GETTING THERE: Steele Indian School Park is just off of the Indian School light rail station, and Tempe Beach Park is just North of the Mill Avenue light rail station. Use any of our light rail maps to help you find your way around!
