It sounds like Phil Gordon isn’t too worried about finding a job next January. In fact, he must be pretty sure that his measly $80k salary as the Mayor of Phoenix is going to increase by just a little bit.
According to azcentral, Mayor Gordon is the first one to step up to the plate and move into one of the luxury homes at Chateau on Central.
By signing a “$1.56 million lease-purchase” for one of these properties, it sounds as if Phil plans to be livin’ large in the #PHX for a while. You have probably heard of the Chateau on Central: 21 homes ranging from approximately 5100 square feet up to 8200 square feet that were the poster child of the real estate boom and bust. Gated community, private elevators, unique architecture, gourmet kitchens, etc., etc.
It’s nice to see that someone has finally decided to take the plunge and invest some serious coin on one of these homes.
Pricing for Chateau on Central was announced towards the end of last year and a full time sales staff has been touting the benefits of living in these highly upgraded homes for months. But rumors of no one wanting to be the first one to pull the trigger have been circulating for quite some time. Maybe Phil wanted to be generous and help these guys out? Who knows, he might have some new neighbors soon, or maybe he will have the entire place to himself for a while. Time will tell.
We’ve long known that Phil is a METRO light rail fan. Maybe we’ll see him rockin’ the Rail Life more often now that he is living right on the line!
Anyone want to live by the Mayor? Give me a call, we’ll take a tour of Chateau and see if you think it’s a good fit! 🙂
Good for him. They are ridiculous, but they’re there and someone needs to buy them.
Yeah, I think they are pretty cool.
Hopefully, this will help raise interest in the area.
If I was rich, I’d want to live in a castle, too.
You KNOW you he didn’t pay sticker price.
