Opening Day. What comes to mind when you hear or see those two words? Football? No. Basketball? Uh uh. Hockey? Really?
Opening Day means one thing. Baseball. No other sport’s first game of the season has the same magic as baseball’s Opening Day.
It doesn’t even have to be professional baseball. All the way from Little League on up, baseball’s Opening Day signals the beginning of Spring, and Summer is right around the corner. The smell of the grass, the crack of the bat, and the first hot dog of the season bring back memories from forty years ago. If I smell a cigar today, I flash back instantly to my first opening day at Jack Murphy Stadium in 1970. The gentleman two rows in front of us smoked a stogie, and I will never forget it…
Tonight, the Diamondback’s home opener is against the Cincinnati Reds at Chase Field at 6:40. Rearrange your plans and jump on the light rail and take part in a wonderful event… Maybe I’ll see you there.
Play Ball!

Ironically enough, I am posting this from a baseball stadium other than Chase Field. Yes, it’s a good day to enjoy good friends AND some DBack’s baseball.
Go Diamondbacks!!
They looked GREAT on opening day! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
