ASU Men’s Basketball season is finally over. After 3 straight 20 win seasons, 12-19 is a tough pill to swallow. Let’s hope Coach Sendek has the right pieces coming in next season… DBacks lefty Zach Duke suffered a broken hand in Saturday’s game after being struck by a line drive. Doctors say 6-8 weeks for recovery. Please don’t let this be an omen for the season… With Steve Nash out, the Suns were blown out by Orlando on Sunday. The Suns are 0-3 without the 2-time MVP… The third seeded Sun Devils Women’s Basketball team was upset by 6th seeded Cal in the conference tournament. Charli Turner-Thorne and the team now must wait and see if their 20 win season is good enough for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament… Enough with the bad news. Even with Sunday’s loss at Auburn, the Sun Devil baseball squad is off to another good start at 11-3. They return home for a series against Oklahoma beginning Tuesday at 6:30… With the weather warming up, why not sneak away to a spring training game? The Oakland A’s are a short two block walk from the light rail at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. While not as impressive as the new Dbacks spring training digs, the former home of the Phoenix Thunderbirds was renovated in 2005 and you can’t beat the views of the Papago Buttes… The Suns remain 1 1/2 games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Anyone else thinking a a shot in the draft lottery might be better than a first round matchup with the white hot Spurs?… Alan Trammel joins Gibby’s staff as bench coach. They broke my heart in 1984 as the Tigers beat my Padres in 5 games in the World Series, but this combo will instill a “culture of winning” in the Diamondbacks clubhouse…
