The 2011 Arizona Strong Beer Festival is coming to Steele Indian School Park on Saturday, February 19th. The Strong Beer Festival is part of Arizona Beer Week, a statewide celebration of strong and craft beer that includes participants from Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, Tucson, Bisbee and every brew-loving spot in between.
One thing I have learned about many of the people that read this blog is we love beer! If that’s you, check out this list of beers.
Tickets for the Strong Beer Festival are just $30.00 and include admission, one 4-ounce commemorative tasting mug and 15 tasting tickets (each good for one 4-ounce beer taste).
There will be plenty of great food to purchase and some great music to keep you rockin’ along.
The Strong Beer Festival features over 180 different beers to choose from. Seriously, this is like beer Nirvana. If you love ( or even like ) beer, you need to check out this event.
Of course, the best way to get to the AZ Strong Beer Festival is to hop on the METRO and ride the light rail to the Indian School station. The map below shows the light rail line and highlights a few of our favorite places along the line where you can grab a brew before or after the festival( or just about any time ). See the “ray of sunshine” on the map that is Steele Indian School Park.

The festival is the kickoff event for a complete week of celebrating beer throughout Arizona. Many celebrations are planned, but the next BIG event is the Great AZ Beer Fest March 5th at Tempe Beach Park. Stay tuned for more details about that super-cool event! Many restaurants around the valley are participating in Arizona Beer Week and several are accessible via our Phoenix light rail system. Hey, you might as well let them drive, right?!? 🙂
This should go without saying but… Don’t be stupid. Don’t drink and drive and please drink responsibly. After all, we want you to be rockin’ the Rail Life during a bunch of other cool events that are coming soon…
