WordCamp Phoenix is in full swing. People are flocking from far and wide to get their geek on with some of the best of the best.
Billed as “A five day festival celebrating all things WordPress in Greater Phoenix”, this major cramming down your throat of more information that a person could possibly handle is going to also include a LOT of fun. For the purpose of this blog, let’s focus on their light rail pub crawl.
After a reception tonight at CO+Hoots, people will be heading to explore some cool places along the light rail line for some fun and possibly a few drinks. As the WordCamp web site says, CO+Hoots isn’t far from the light rail station at Central and Roosevelt. Once there, or at any station, you can purchase a light rail pass for just $3.50 an it will be good for the entire night. If taking light rail to CO+Hoots from another place along the line, you can also use one of the FREE park and ride lots. <—map of park and ride locations.

On the map above, you can see where 7th Street and Roosevelt is. I have marked Hanny’s in red which will be the destination point for people to meet once they have enjoyed some other places along the line. The other points are some ( not a complete list, yet ) of our favorite places to have a drink along the line.
Please note, the line is “split” in downtown Phoenix, and the tracks are “one way” depending on which part of town you are coming from. If coming from the North or West and heading to Hanny’s, exit at the Jefferson and 1st Ave Station. If coming from the South or East, exit at the Washington and Central Station.
I’m looking forward to seeing some good friends tonight and to meeting some new ones. If I can be of any help, just let me know.
