Quick, name two things that are a favorite of millions of people around the world.
Yep, tequila and the music of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.
Many of us remember Roger rockin’ the light rail grand opening party back in 2008. It was a LOT of fun! This Thursday night, we have an opportunity to enjoy watching Roger Clyne perform just a few blocks from where the grand opening party was held. Canteen Modern Tequila Bar is throwing another party and we are invited. It’s one of those, “you don’t want to miss it” nights on Mill Avenue that people will be kicking themselves if they don’t show.
At 6:00pm, there will be samples of Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine which is a 100% Blue Agave Ultra Premium Reposado Tequila.
From 7- 7:45pm, Roger is scheduled to do an acoustic set which will include a few songs from his upcoming CD.
Parking in the Mill Avenue District is available, but we might suggest jumping on the METRO light rail. Exit at the Mill Avenue station and head South a few blocks to Canteen.
I’m pretty sure he will be doing this one. I hope everyone will sing along…
Mexican Moonshine!
Mexican Moonshine!
I fell under the spell
When I stumbled over the line…
Mexican Moonshine
Mexican Moonshine
Let your heart and your cup overflow
Under the glow of the moonshine!
Let the world call ’em crow’s feet
Baby, we can call ’em laugh lines
Let me hear your little heart beat, baby
Turn your back on all the deadlines
I got a healin’ home-brewed remedy,
A low-brow therapy
And a high time
It’s surreal, sublime, manmade and divine
It’s the moonshine….
Mexican Moonshine
Mexican Moonshine
I fell under the spell
When I stumbled over the line…
Hey, cantinero!
Pull back and hit me with your magic arrow
I need amor more than dinero
In any language every day
We’ll get a fine flow flowin’,
A good glow goin’ and let’s shine on
Soak in the silvery light
Spillin’ out tonight from the moonshine…
Mexican Moonshine!
Mexican Moonshine!
I fell under the spell
When I stumbled over the line…
Mexican Moonshine
Mexican Moonshine
Let your heart and your cup overflow
Under the glow of the moonshine!
Hey, gringos, it could be worse
We did not get there first
‘Cause on the south side of the dunes
We found graffiti on the rocks,
The Lunar Lander on blocks,
And a Mexican flag on the moon!
Mexican Moonshine!
Mexican Moonshine!
I fell under the spell
When I stumbled over the line…
Mexican Moonshine
Mexican Moonshine
Let your heart and your cup overflow
Under the glow of the moonshine!
May your heart and your cup…
Overflow…under the glow
Of the Moonshine!
