Metro light rail ridership numbers – November 2010

December 7, 2010 by Rail Life Leave a Comment

For the month of November 2010, light rail ridership numbers were slightly lower than the previous month for the second month in a row. While October numbers were 4% higher than 2009, they were still lower than September 2010.

Totals look like this:

Total Boardings for November: 1,080,495 vs 1,165,737 in October

Avg. Weekday Boardings: 43,235 vs 43,425 in October

Avg Saturday Boardings: 30,056 vs 30,039 in October

Avg Sunday / Holiday Boardings: 19,831 vs 20,722  in October

For the month of November 2009, the total boardings were 1,003,503 with an average weekday ridership of 40,211.

December numbers should be interesting. While ASU students make up a significant percentage of passengers, the many cool events along the line during the holidays should help. Last December, METRO was just shy of the 1MM rider mark. It will be interesting to see what happens.
