Central Station Temporarily Closed

As a reminder, please note that the Central Station is closed today. If you are riding the light rail please note that you can not use the Central/Van Buren and Central/1st Ave Stations. There are stations very close to these stations that will be open and running.

Central Station closed today, June 19

Central Station will be sealed off to the public and closed to insure public safety during a sign installation at the neighboring high-rise building, One Central Park East, on Saturday, June 19, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The closure will impact bus and rail service.

METRO light rail will not be permitted to serve Central Station, specifically the Central/Van Buren and 1st Ave./Van Buren stations.  Passengers should expect to use the nearest stations at Central/Washington (westbound) and 1st Ave./Jefferson (eastbound).  Westbound service delays could also result.

The following bus routes will experience delays and detours:

  • Route 0 – northbound and southbound
  • Route 1 – eastbound and westbound
  • Route 3 – eastbound and westbound
  • Route 7 – northbound and southbound
  • Route 8 – northbound and southbound
  • Route 10 – eastbound and westbound
  • Route 12 – northbound and southbound
  • Route 15 – northbound and southbound

The following routes will be affected by street and Central Station closures due to adjacent construction:

Route 0 – Central Avenue Southbound

On regular route – 1st Ave. remains open.

Route 3 – Van Buren Street Westbound

Regular route to Van Buren St. and 7th St.

South on 7th St.

West on Washington St.

North on 3rd Ave.

West on Van Buren St.

Resume regular route at Van Buren St. and 3rd Ave.

Route 12 – 12th Street Northbound

From the temporary layover

Continue North on 5th St.

East on Van Buren St.

Resume regular route at Van Buren and 5th St.

Route 10 – Roosevelt Street/Grant Street Eastbound

Regular route to Grant St. and 3rd Ave.

North on 3rd Ave.

East on Roosevelt St.

Resume regular at Central Ave. and Roosevelst St.

Route 12 – 12th Street Southbound

Regular route to Van Buren St. and 3rd St.

South on 3rd St.

East on Jefferson St.

North on 5th St. to layover at Monroe St.

Route 10 – Roosevelt Street/Grant Street Westbound

On regular route – 1st Ave. remains open.

Route 15 – 15th Avenue Northbound

Regular route to Washington St. and 7th St.

Continue Westbound on Washington St.

Resume regular route at 1st Ave. and Washington St.

Route 15 – 15th Avenue Southbound

Regular route to Jefferson St. and Central Ave.

Continue Eastbound on Jefferson St.

Resume regular route at 7th St.

Route 7 – 7th Street/7th Street Limited Northbound

Regular route to 7th St. and Van Buren St.

Continue Northbound on 7th St.

Resume regular route at Fillmore St. and 7th St.

METRO light rail Eastbound

During the Central Station closure period, METRO may not be servicing the Van Buren/1st Ave. and Van Buren/Central light rail stations on each side of Central Station.

Passengers should be advised nearest area rail servicing will take place at the Roosevelt/Central, Jefferson/1st Ave. and Washington/Central light rail stations.

Route 7 – 7th Street/7th Street Limited Southbound

Regular route to 7th St. and Fillmore St.

Continue Southbound on 7th St.

Resume regular route at Van Buren St. and 7th St.

METRO light rail Westbound

METRO LIGHT RAIL INFORMATION: During the Central Station closure period, METRO may not be servicing the Van Buren/1st Ave. and Van Buren/Central light rail stations on each side of Central Station.

Passengers should be advised nearest area rail servicing will take place at the Roosevelt/Central, Jefferson/1st Ave. and Washington/Central light rail stations

West on Fillmore St.

Resume regular route Fillmore St. and 3rd Ave.

Route 0 – Central Avenue Northbound

Regular route to Central Ave. and Washington St.

West on Washington St.

North on 3rd Ave.

East on Roosevelt St.

North on Central Ave.

Resume regular route Central Ave. and Roosevelt St.

Route 1 – Washington/Jefferson/ASU Westbound

Regular route to Washington St. and 7th St.

Continue Westbound on Washington St.

Resume regular route at 1st Ave. and Washington St.
