Opening day is just about here for the Arizona Diamondbacks and baseball fans will be rolling into the arena in big numbers. The success of the spring games brings renewed excitement to a club that had a somewhat forgettable year last season. I hope you have tickets for opening day, because this sold out game is sure to be a LOT of fun. The team looks good, the weather will be great and the roof will be open, so hitch a ride on the light rail, grab a brew and a dog, and get ready for a fun filled year. I have a feeling these guys feel like they have a lot to prove.
If you are new to the valley or taking light rail to Chase Field for the first time, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind:
Purchase a light rail pass: For just $3.50 ( * update: Tickets are now $4.00 ) you can ride the light rail to and from Chase Field.
Park and Ride: All park and ride lots are FREE. If you don’t live near the light rail line, these lots are always a good bet.
Pick your light rail station: If coming from the East Valley, you will exit at 3rd and Washington and walk south to the arena. When going home, jump on the 3rd and Jefferson station right outside of Chase Field heading back east. This also means that people coming from the north or west will exit at 3rd and Jefferson on their way to the game and then walk north to 3rd and Washington when heading home.
In the video below, you will see what it looks like to take light rail to the arena.
At RailLife, we are big fans of the Dbacks… We hope to see you at the games!
Sounds like we need to have a tweetup outside the stadium. Cooperstown? Orange & White Lounge?
