This past week, I mentioned the new Urban Garden Project in Tempe in a post about some cool things to do this weekend. As I walked by there Friday evening, it was cool to see the beginnings of a more urban lifestyle in our city.
While the recreational user has been given much of the spotlight in Phoenix light rail news during the first year of operation, I truly believe there is a new and growing interest for more walk-able neighborhoods in our community. I have seen some cool housing information nationally that tells people about neighborhood walk ability in urban areas and I bet we are going to see a lot more of it, soon. ( hint, hint)
Tempe has been bringing back some more of the local flavor to the Mill Avenue District with the garden, a Sunday farmers market, live music, the Thursday Night Market, etc. This kind of thing is happening along the light rail line in Phoenix, as well. I just think it’s cool to watch…
Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
