METRO attributes the current decline in ridership to typical reductions in travel region wide during the summer including breaks for ASU and other schools, summer travel and departure of winter visitors. “We expect to have ridership peaks again in the fall and look forward to closing out the year strong,” said METRO CEO Rick Simonetta.
METRO will continue to monitor ridership and report new totals on a monthly basis; numbers will be available by the middle of the subsequent month. Boardings by station reports will be available on a quarterly basis.
