I often like to talk about fun things to do along the light rail line so when I heard that a group of women at Bethany Community Church in Tempe were interested in getting together to have a fun “girls night” via light rail I thought, “How cool!”
From a flier passed out for the event we find:
CHICKS ON TRACKS… a light rail adventure
June 25th from 6-9pm, embark on an exciting adventure aboard the Valley’s new Light Rail. The fun will begin at Bethany Community Church in the South parking lot at 6pm and continue over to the Apache/101 Freeway Park and Ride lot. Come try out the light rail, eat some good food and enjoy getting to know one another. The cost is $5.25 per person. This is a great opportunity to invite a neighbor, coworker, family member or friend. There are guaranteed to be some great surprises along the way. Depart from the station with your comfortable shoes, a bottle of water and some money for your meal, coffee or snack (whatever you prefer).
Please register online at www.BethanyCommunity.com ( registrations must be completed by Sunday, June 21st! )
Here’s the deal: The ladies will meet in the parking lot at Bethany and drive or car-pool to the light rail station at the 101 and Apache where they will board the train and embark on their adventure. The event is being promoted through the church bulletin, their web site and by some fun marketing materials passed out at Bethany. So, for $5.25, each participant will be given a light rail pass and a very cool Chicks on Tracks t-shirt. We have helped them with selecting a route and by letting them know of some fun places to stop. I enjoyed meeting with Robyn Dahl at Bethany Community Church to shoot this quick video below where she shares some of the reasons behind “Chicks on Tracks.”
