Yesterday, I got to go to the Arizona Diamondbacks game with Paul Martinez who writes the very cool AZ Hardball blog. The game was great and the Dbacks pulled out a good win in the bottom of the 11th inning.
On the way to the game, I rode on a VERY full train with a ton of baseball fans. Afterwards, Paul and I noticed the crowd of fans waiting to board the East bound car at 3rd street and Jefferson right outside of the stadium. Thankfully, Metro runs a 3 car system after games to help with the crowds.
According to Metro, each car can seat 66 passengers and comfortably accommodate 175 with a maximum capacity of 225. So, I am guessing they are pushing close to the 675 right after the games. Yep, it can feel like you are crammed in like sardines sometimes, but thankfully there are places to stop and have a sandwich or a cold drink while the crowds settle down a bit. 🙂
Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
