Saturday, April 25th from 11am to 6pm, at Tempe Beach Park is a day that all salsa lovers mark in red on their calendars. It’s a day to “heat it up” – with the world’s best condiment – SALSA.
Whether you love to eat salsa or have a recipe that is sure to “catch on fire”, the 25th Annual My Nanas Best Tasting Salsa Challenge is an annual event that includes salsa tasting (both hot & mild categories), music, Cazadores Margarita Mix-Off (20 bartenders competing for “Best Margarita”) and entertainment with Champagne Tap, The Chadwicks, and Jody & Shining Star! Let’s not forget the PCH Hope Fun Zone for the kids.
With over 25,000 people expected and over 75 different salsa entries, this event is sure to be a success as a fundraiser for the Arizona Hemophilia Association. Discount tickets can be purchased on line. Adult discount tickets are $8.00 ($10.00 at the gate) and children 12 and younger are free. VIP tickets are also available starting at $50.00each.
Taking the light rail to the event will be a breeze, as well. The light rail station is conveniently located at Mill Ave & 3rd Street. If you do decide to drive, parking is available for $5 at the US Airways Garage.
Salsa??? I’m there. I went last year and ate this insanely hot stuff… they even gave me a tshirt cause I ate it and didn’t spit it out.
See you there Nick / Raillife
Chuck… The hotter, the better. Kinda like Los Dos. (some of the hottest salsa around)
I’m gonna see if they need any more judges for the Margarita mix-off too. 🙂
I’m with you both – I like *hot*, but I also have a tremendous appreciation for taste…. We attended last year, as well, and everyone had a great time – so much so, they’re already talking about this year’s event. See you there!
