This morning, I was able to meet with Jessica Steed from the Arizona Hemophilia Association to talk about My Nana’s Salsa Challenge which will be held at Tempe Beach Park tomorrow from 11am to 6pm. They have a bunch of great stuff planned for the Tempe event including salsa making contests and a margarita mix-off. What I enjoyed most about meeting with Jessica was her desire to help spread awareness for the Az Hemophilia Assn. You see, Hemophilia has effected her family personally and she decided to make a difference. We wrote about the Salsa Challenge a few weeks ago here on the Rail life blog, but I wasn’t as aware of the charity involved until recently. You gotta go check out this great event that supports this great cause!
We also got to meet some fun people from the Arizona Parrot Head Association while they did a “test run” of their salsa entry for the weekend. We had a great time at Macayo’s Depot Cantina this morning meeting a ton of really fun people! Turns out, Rail Life might be able to work with the Parrot Heads to do a fun “Pub Crawl” type of event in the fall. Of course, I’ll put out more info on that as we get closer. After this weekend’s Salsa Challenge, the next fun Rail Life event will be something with our friends at Depot Cantina. Watch for some more on that REAL soon! 🙂
Enjoy My Nana’s Salsa Challenge! Take the light rail to 3rd/Mill and head north to the Tempe Beach Park. You are sure to have a great time!
Jessica from the AZ Hemophillia Association met with a bunch of fun people this am to discuss the Salsa Challenge. Channel 10 was on hand to speak with her and to help spread the word.
Matt’s Inferno salsa was insanely hot… definitely the hottest salsa I’ve ever had
