The light rail station at Smith-Martin and Apache in Tempe is located between the very busy stations at McClintock and at Price roads. The neighborhood station should see some major changes as this area continues to develop.
Just East of a lot of some new ASU housing and directly south of a post office, the area is an interesting mix of residential and commercial use. Transit oriented development along this section of Apache Boulevard in Tempe has the interest of many people. With some older buildings and vacant land near by, the promise of future change is inevitable.
Boardings are currently on the low end for the light rail system, it will be interesting to watch this area of Tempe grow over the next several years.
