This week in D-backs baseball, Arizona returns home from a short trip in San Francisco where they will be hosting the Colorado Rockies once again. The nine game homestand begins on Monday and extends through next week with a break for the team this Thursday. The D-backs have seemed to be struggling as of late but that is no reason for us not to go out and support the team. In last week's action, the team would win one of three games against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. The weekend series against the Giants in San Francisco would earn one win for the team as they lose the other two in San Francisco.
The Diamondbacks organization has always done an excellent job of giving back to the community with creating new ball fields throughout the valley and their innovative season ticket scholarship program. Announced late last week was the awarding of the 2011 MLB All Star Game to Chase Field. A special thank you goes to the Diamondbacks organization for working hard to make this possibility a reality. Great organizations are run by wonderful executives and CEO and President Derrick Hall recently showed what he believes in on a local sports website. One of the key beliefs that he mentions is taking the Light Rail to the ball park. However you choose to get there, get to a game to help cheer on your team.
