This past week, we mentioned a few of the many fun things going on this weekend near the light rail line. One of my favorites was the Tempe Festival of the Arts! I was able to meet some friends down there, talk to a bunch of artists and business owners and just have a great time. In fact, I might go back later this afternoon to take advantage of some of the things I didn’t get to yesterday. It is a huge festival with a LOT of things to see and do… The light rail cars were packed and I met people from Gilbert, Chandler and “North Mesa” while riding to the festival. Some of these people were first time riders out to have some fun and enjoy the weather, the art, the food and all of the cool things the festival offers.
I decided on this picture of the festival because my friend, Dru Bloomfield of Scottsdale commented on our Flickr page that she liked it. 🙂 Dru asked where the picture was taken from so I want to see if any of you can guess the location. Take a look and feel free to leave your answer in the comments.
If you have time today, I highly recommend you go check out the Tempe Festival of the Arts, it does have something for just about everyone. Great art, kids zones, wine tasting, lot’s of food etc. If taking the light rail like most of the really smart people do, I suggest the 3rd St and Mill stop which drops you off right at the entrance of the festival!
I have a few other pictures on our Flickr page as well if you want to take a look…

Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
