The 5th annual D-backs Fan Fest was pure fun and enjoyment. As advertised, there was plenty to do for everyone. We managed to stay pre-occupied for about six hours as we checked everything out. There were picture and autograph opportunities with the players and some of the other entertainers from the Diamondbacks Family including Baxter and the Rally Backs.
Additionally there were question and answer periods with some of the current stars of the team as well as some of the past World Series Champion team members. There were some great questions asked that provided some insight into the excitement of the players and the upcoming season that would make any D-backs fan proud.
We also thought that it was really wonderful to see CEO Derrick Hall on the Field wondering around with all of the fans. Hall, known for being an extremely down-to-Earth individual, took the time out to speak with fans and take some photos with them. Also, fans were allowed in the clubhouse to take a look at the private facilities for the team.
The organization did a phenomenal job of organizing the event that seemed to never miss a beat. It seemed that there was always something going on at all times. Although we do not have the exact numbers at this point, there appeared to be three times as many attendees this year to support the team. As D-backs fans, we are excited to see the community embrace our wonderful baseball team as they prepare to do good things in 2009.
