Everyone knows that gas prices are half of what they were in recent months. Just because we are enjoying the reprieve, doesn't mean there are not people still looking to save a few bucks or to live a more "green lifestyle." I have enjoyed learning more about many people living, working and playing in an "urban environment" that is becoming more possible thanks to light rail.
A few months ago, I noticed a cool looking place near the Northeast corner of McClintock and Apache in Tempe called The Urban Commuter. This past week, I finally decided to stop in and say "Hi" to the guys at this scooter store and to see what they were all about. I learned quite a bit from Matt about this booming small business that sells scooters, bikes, and bags. We talked about the light rail and how close they are to the light rail stop, and I also learned that scooter drivers can use The Urban Commuter as their own "park and ride" lot (pretty cool of them).
It really has been fun to meet so many people along the line. Who knows, maybe you will see a new scooter with a big RailLife logo on the side of it in the near future. 🙂
Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
