It’s been an eventful 2 weeks since the grand opening of our light rail system. You might even say that I have been more than a little busy trying to keep up.
When I first heard of Saturday’s “No Pants Day” I was pretty sure that Rail Life should probably just watch and report from a distance. I tried to stay away and assist from the “sidelines” by discussing routes and travel times” with Jeff, Heather and some of the other crazy people that were involved. But as 3:00 on Saturday approached, I couldn’t help myself and headed towards Tempe to jump on one of the trains. As I boarded the train at McClintock, I had a feeling I was pretty darn close to the start time of the cast of characters that were participating in what Jeff Moriarty called “shenanigans.” Sure enough, as I pulled up towards the Dorsey and Apache station, I saw several familiar faces, all dressed in a manner slightly different than normal. The train ride was a lot of fun, with unsuspecting people having all kinds of interesting reactions to the “no pants-ed” people.
Even though I was called out by Brian Shaler for wearing pants, I must admit, the day was a lot of fun. One of my favorite pictures was this one of my friend, Tyler Hurst. I think the picture says a lot about the day. It was just some people having fun, livin’ the Rail Life…
Remember, Rail Life has a Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr. Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and allow people to add their pics (or videos), as well. These can be light rail related, but we also want pics of your favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community, event etc.
Great picture of Tyler! Seems to be a great representation of the happenings of the day!
