The grand opening of light rail was a huge success today. Well, since it is past midnight, I guess it was actually yesterday but, I can't go to bed without writing a very sincere THANK YOU to some really cool people. Obviously, it is late at night and I have had a couple of really long days but I feel like I *need* to "publicly" thank a whole bunch of people that came out to support the light rail grand opening. Even more than that, I want to say how much I appreciate the friends that went out of their way to blog, tweet, talk and share with so many others what we are doing here at Rail Life. I was amazed at the amount of fun we all had and was humbled by the support you have shown to us in such a short amount of time. To the friends that joined in the fun with us at the opening, called to say "hi", sent messages from other cities and other states, you know who you are and I thank you.
The day was much less organized than I expected and I did a poor job of responding to tweets, direct messages and emails; for that, I am sorry. Please know that I have now read every one of them and am thankful for all of the friends out there. The site had thousands of hits today, it was really fun to be a part of this historic day and to be able to share it with so many people.
Tomorrow (Sunday) I am going to try and spend some much needed time with the kids but hope to get some pictures, videos and re-cap info out within a couple of days. I just wanted to say… Thanks!
Nick,
Way cool! Wish I could have been there to hop aboard. Looks like it was a great day. Happy New year to you!
I wish I could’ve been there too! But I’ve enjoyed reading about opening day, both here and on other websites. It seems like everyone was really enthusiastic… let’s hope that enthusiasm translates into regular riders!
