The Grand Opening of light rail is less than two weeks away! Testing of the system appears to be going very well and the curiosity factor over this new mode of transportation is in full force. Prior to the grand opening, there is still testing underway, (each of the 50 light rail cars must under-go 1000 hours of testing) as well as a limited amount of opportunities to ride on the trains. Rail Life has been fortunate to have had a few chances to ride and have found them to be a lot of fun. This weeks pic shows a group of people from a recent "light rail art tour" boarding the trains. Currently, the stations are mainly empty, this shot gives a glimpse of many people preparing to take a ride which will be a very common sight in just 13 days!
Remember… Rail Life has a "Phoenix Light Rail Group on Flickr." Basically, we want to share some of our pictures from the community and to allow people to add their pics (or videos) as well. These can be light rail related but we also want a favorite spot, restaurant, sports team, community etc
