The cool people at Friends of Transit just sent us an email describing more details on traveling between METRO Light Rail and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This free shuttle service will be great for people attending events in downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Soon, thousands of travelers attending events like the 2009 NBA All Star Game in Phoenix and the 2008 Insight Bowl in Tempe. Without a doubt, this shuttle service can come in handy. It is nice to see that there will be buses traveling frequently between the airport and the light rail stop at 44th St and Washington. Our friends at Sky Harbor have provided us information about the shuttle service that will connect light rail to the airport. The PHX Airport Shuttle is free and will operate the same hours as the light rail system, with stops at each terminal. As you may know, over time, the light rail will ultimately interface with the automated train at the airport. Until then, this shuttle will provide passengers an easy way to get from light rail to the airport.
