The Light Rail Grand Opening celebrations are going to be VERY cool. I am proud to say that RailLife.com will be participating in several ways. The people at the Tempe Chamber of Commerce are great friends of ours and are a great asset to the community! During the Grand Opening celebrations, Leandro Barbosa of the Phoenix Sun's will be at the Tempe Chamber's booth at Dorsey and Apache. Leandro is scheduled to be there at 2:00. I will also be there with the Chamber Saturday afternoon and look forward to meeting a bunch of people! (Dorsey is three stops East of the Mill Avenue stop in Tempe)
In the morning, Rail Life will have people in Phoenix, Tempe and in Mesa when the Mayor's all ride to their respective stops for ribbon cutting celebrations. The ribbon cutting ceremonies at the stops are scheduled for approximately 20 minutes before 10:00 a.m. – The first Free rides to the public begin at 10:00a.m. Mid morning, I plan to be in the booth with my good friends from the Midtown Museum District. We will be at the Encanto / Central Ave station near the Heard Museum. When there, I will be giving away Rail Life stickers and some Rail Life t-shirts. Please note, a very limited number of shirts remain, I'll be giving them to people who read this blog and who show up at the booth and ask me for a shirt. They will be given away until they are gone… I hope you can come by and say "Hi!"
Around lunch time, I plan to met up with some of our "Twitter" friends to grab a bite to eat. We have not planned the location yet but will "Tweet" the location during the day. Please make sure and follow us on Twitter!
After lunch, I'll start my way to the Dorsey and Apache stop. This promises to be a really fun and historic day for our state. I hope to see you there!!
I am so excited. I will be donning my gear on my way from North Phoenix. I will see you in Tempe.
The way you’ll be flitting about town, I don’t know if I’ll ever catch up to you! But I’ll definitely be “riding for my life” on Saturday!
Jay, it turned out to be a pretty crazy day. I thought we would have some “down time” and be able to catch up with more people. It was a great day, just really “busy” getting from place to place. Glad you made it out though!
