PHOENIX — Public meetings will convene to hear final input on the design of METRO’s Northwest Extension. The 3.2-mile, locally-funded Northwest Extension will take light rail service further north on 19th Avenue to Dunlap. Plans for this mile section are 95% complete.
These meetings are the final opportunity for area residents and business owners to share their recommendations for any design changes to the Northwest Extension project. METRO and City of Phoenix staff will be on-hand to explain the latest progress, listen to attendees and answer questions. At every major design milestone, METRO goes into the community seeking input. The design phase is when public input is the most valuable and can make direct impacts on the final design product.
To maximize public participation, each meeting will focus on a one-mile section:
Northern Ave. to Dunlap Ave. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 6 – 8 p.m.; presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. RoyalPalmMiddle School – Gymnasium 8520 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix

Glendale Ave. to Northern Ave. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 6 – 8 p.m.; presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. OrangewoodElementary School – Cafeteria 7337 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix
