Today, there was a celebration at the Encanto / Central Ave light rail stop in honor of the Heard Museum getting their own sign at the station. The museum's rich history, community involvement and proximity to the stop at Encanto make for a great fit. The event was well attended by the public, many members of the museum, the media and several members of the Midtown Museum District. Phoenix City Councilman, Tom Simplot was on hand as was Rick Simonetta from Metro to speak about the light rail project and the excitement that is building up for the grand opening in December. As some of the media asked questions trying to point out challenges that could be ahead, Mr. Simplot chose to stay focused on the hard work, accomplishments and future potential of the system. Stay tuned for more info on upcoming events!
