PHOENIX — A public meeting will convene to brief residents and business owners between Northern and Dunlap avenues on the progress of route design and construction plans for METRO’s Northwest Extension. The 3.2-mile, locally-funded Northwest Extension will take light rail service further north on 19th Avenue to Dunlap. Plans for this mile section are 65% complete.
During the summer, similar design review meetings occurred with stakeholders between Bethany Home Road and Northern Avenue. A 95% design review meeting is set for mid-November with all affected stakeholders.
Public meetings are opportunities for the local community to be updated on the project as well as provide input. METRO and city staff will be on-hand to explain the progress, share next steps and answer questions related to this future transit corridor. The meeting date and location are:
