I just got back from Blogworld Expo in Las Vegas where I met a lot of really amazing people and learned a ton of cool stuff about blogging and social media. To me, the most interesting part was learning more about community building and on line relationships etc. Don't get me wrong, the "technical" aspects were cool but sessions on Twitter and on "Hyper Local Blogging" etc. really made my trip worth while. It was fun for me to hear about other blogs and to share our vision for Rail Life. In telling people about the communities, the sports activities, the restaurants, the hotels and the new lifestyle that will be available along the new light rail line, the response was awesome. I almost felt like I was "bragging" about how cool it will be to watch the transformation of the areas along the light rail line. Just a few examples I gave of people that will use the system are: ASU students, residents of communities near the stops, sports fans, business travelers, people that work down town will use the line during lunch time etc.
Our communities are very important to us and we want to begin telling people a little more about Rail Life in hopes of sharing ideas and meeting more people within community groups near light rail as well as meeting more light rail business owners. We have a long way to go in building the site to be even close to what we want but we are trying to use this blog as a way to share some of the things we are working on. We love the passion that many of the local residents, business owners, students have been sharing with us about the areas and hope to help provide information on how to take advantage of the new lifestyle opportunity coming to the valley. Come December 27th, "Your Life Is On The Line!" What's your favorite thing about the new system?
Nick,
Wish I could have been there. I’ll watch the results as they unfold here.
Vance, next year it is in October, hope to see you there! Lot’s of info on AR, Facebook etc. We had a LOT of fun and learned some pretty good stuff as well.
