Light Rail working well in many cities..

June 18, 2008 by Rail Life 5 Comments

Public transportation has been a pretty hot topic lately. With the price of gas and cost of living, people are flocking to bus and rail systems nationwide. This morning, I read stories about the growth of the Houston and Denver light rail systems.

Our good friends at “The Overhead Wire” have some great information concerning the ridership and expansion plans for Houstons transportation system. Check it out, there is some great info there.

In Denver, Steve Scheer wrote an article titled Denver Light Rail Featured on National News where he spoke of some of the benefits of Denver’s Light Rail system.

As we get closer to December, we are going to be hearing a lot more about our new light rail system. A friend of ours from “Twitter” mentioned recently that he “can’t wait for the light rail. I’ll never drive to phx for an event again.” Thanks Alan.. At RailLife, we couldn’t agree more. 🙂

If anyone has ever tried to navigate the streets of downtown Phoenix after a ball game or a concert, they will probably agree with me.

All those one-way streets and construction cones can make for a very frustrated trip…

Alan, you are absolutely right.. The traffic has been a nightmare. Fortunately, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.
btw.. Your blog is awesome.. I have a feeling that many ASU students will love the new light rail system.

Thanks for the kudos. I just published a post about what I’m doing to try and cut fuel costs.

I linked to your site, so hopefully it will generate some traffic for you…
