We have written before about the light rail cars and the new light rail maintenance facility. One of the fun features of the facility is the “car wash.” You should see this thing. It is a huge drive-thru building at the south end of the test track where the cars will be cleaned every few days. I have seen it on a couple of trips to the maintenance center but thought a few people might want to see it for themselves.
In the beginning of the first video, you will get a pretty good view of the “car wash.” The second video shows a few of the interior features.
Nick,
Man, it’s feeling like Phoenix back here in Michigan – 94 degrees, 94% humidity. Walk outside and you shine instantly.
That rail wash system is just what is needed to keep the entire system shiny. A shiny rail car will attract riders, while a dirty one will be a turnoff. Let’s hope there’s no problems with grafiti on immobile rail cars!
Thanks for stopping by Vance! One of the things they are going to have to fight graffiti is removable film on the windows. When the little bozos try to tag the window, it can be removed. 🙂 I believe the paint is some how resistant as well.
Keep cool, my friend..
