Just an “FYI.”
Bridge Construction will close the Loop 101 Freeway
As part of final construction for the METRO light rail system in Tempe, a small section of the Loop 101 and Apache Boulevard will be closed.
Construction crews will install the bridge under deck lighting and work on the replacement of auxiliary lanes. Apache Boulevard Bridge, over the Loop 101 Freeway, supports the light rail vehicle.
The closures begin Friday, May 16 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, May 18 at 5 p.m.
- Northbound 101 will be closed from Broadway Road to Rio Salado Parkway.
- Southbound 101 will be closed from University Avenue to Broadway Road.
- All exit ramps from the Loop 202 and US 60 freeways to the Loop 101 will be closed.
- Alma School to the US 60 westbound ramp will be closed.
Detour signs will be posted on the US 60 and Loop 202 freeways and on side streets that feed to both freeways to provide alternative routes.
