The Maple Ash neighborhood is called the “oldest existing neighborhood in Tempe.” Within the Maple Ash neighborhood you will find a mix of historic and non-historic properties along with business which are mostly located along University Drive and Mill Avenue.

The area consists of several separate subdivisions with approximately 190 properties that include mostly single family homes but multi-family properties are common. Many of the homes in Maple Ash have accessory units in the rear.
The three main subdivisions that make up Maple Ash are:
Gage Addition: 34 lots, built between 1912 – 1989
Park Tract: 67 lots, the homes were built between 1920 and 1966
College View: Tax records show that College View has just 15 lots, the properties were built from 1925 – 1953
Of course, there are commercial properties and some infill residential projects within the area, as well. Below is an example of some of the other subdivisions located in the neighborhood.
Ash Court consists of 14 lots built from 1964 – 1999
Pueblo Grande is 10 lots built in 1987
Ash Avenue Condominiums, 9 lots built in 2008.
