The 2011 Insight Bowl will feature the 9-3 Oklahoma Sooners ( 6-3 Big 12 ) vs. the 7-5 Iowa Hawkeyes ( 4-4 Big Ten ) in the 24th annual Insight Bowl on December 30, 2011 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. For both teams, this will be their second Insight Bowl appearance.
The Big 12 Conference’s Oklahoma Sooners, led by quarterback Landry Jones, a Heisman Trophy candidate, and the Iowa Hawkeyes, featuring two of the Big Ten Conference’s top offensive threats in sophomore running back Marcus Coker and senior wide receiver/kick returner Marvin McNutt, Jr., collide in the 23rd Annual Insight Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium on Friday, December 30. – Official Insight Bowl web site
Kickoff for the 2011 Insight Bowl will be 8:00 PM MST, the game will be shown on ESPN.

For Sooners and Hawkeyes traveling to the Insight Bowl, the light rail line is sure to be a big hit. There is plenty to do near Sun Devil Stadium and traveling to Tempe from Sky Harbor Airport is a breeze. A free shuttle will take Insight Bowl fans ( any travelers ) from Sky Harbor to the light rail station at 44th Street and Washington. From there, Sun Devil Stadium is just a short distance. Your light rail pass costs just $3.50 and is good for unlimited use for the transit day. ( more info below )
A few ideas to consider for football fans heading to the Valley of the Sun would be to stay at a hotel near the light rail line and to learn how to use the Phoenix light rail system. If you do those two things, you might not even need to rent a car. Of course, there are many things to do while you are in town for the Insight Bowl. You can check out the famed Mill Avenue District in Tempe or find some holiday cheer anywhere along the 20 mile light rail route.
