Back in March of this year, there was a series of meetings to discuss the South Central Transit Study to gather ideas and public input on possible new transit options in the area. Beginning next month, there will be another set of meetings to discuss proposed station locations, street configurations and next steps. Take a look at this recent Valley Metro press release.

The South Central Corridor Study, also known as an Alternatives Analysis, is an evaluation of several high-capacity transit modes — including light rail, bus rapid transit and modern streetcar — and routes to determine the option that would best serve the community. The evaluation is necessary to begin the federal process for capital funding. Funding for the study was provided by a Federal Transit Administration grant with a local match from the city of Phoenix.
Anyone interested in this process is strongly encouraged to attend these public meetings. Ask questions, become informed, stay involved.
