The day is ALMOST here, thousands are ready to celebrate the grand opening of the new World Of Beer on Mill Avenue.
The resurgence of Mill Avenue has been upon us for a while now. The “mall effect” has all but disappeared, and plenty of cool has descended upon the area along with hundreds of new residents. With the ups and downs of Mill Avenue over the years, one thing has been constant.
We love beer.
Big beers, little beers, dark beers, light beers, foreign beers and domestic beers. Local beers do well in these parts but so do beers from far away lands. On Mill, you can be 21 or 91 and a beer just seems to be a good idea. We like beer for lunch, beer for dinner, we like beer at festivals and sometimes, we even like beers for breakfast. Tall beers, short beers, skinny beers and fat. On Mill Avenue, a good cold beer is where it’s at.
Several places have opened and been announced with some pretty serious fanfare over the last couple of years, but the World of Beer seems to already have a cult-like following before pouring their first blessed beer. The WOB Facebook page already has well over 5000 fans and the page gets comments and reactions like crazy. Let’s face it, Mill Avenue fans enjoy their beer.
The time is finally here. Grand Opening. If you are a Facebooker, you’ll probably be going to the “early opening.” The advertised opening day is the 7th 8th and there will be a ton of excitement all week long. If I were a betting man ( and I am ) I’d say that the excitement over the new World Of Beer will last a long time.
They have a great location and a very cool building. They have the 6th Street mojo going for them where the party people seem to be saying it is always time to have some fun.

So, do yourself a favor and check the place out. With over 500 beers and 50 taps, I’m thinking you can find something that will wet your whistle. You know what else they will have? Yep, another Mill Avenue favorite… live music. I know, how in the heck is anyone going to be able to say no to this place, right?
