Public meeting to review recommendation for Central Mesa extension
PHOENIX — A public meeting is scheduled to share the preliminary recommendation for the preferred route and transit technology for METRO’s Central Mesa High Capacity Transit Corridor. The recommendation comes after nearly two years of study by METRO and the City of Mesa to determine the best fit for this corridor and community.
In the last several months, the project team further examined alternatives that included light rail or bus rapid transit traveling east on Main Street, 1st Street or 1st Avenue from the current end of line at Main Street and Sycamore. A more defined recommendation will be discussed by METRO and city staff with the community at this public meeting.
Meeting date and location:
Thursday, April 16, 2009
6 – 8 p.m.; presentation begins at 6:20 p.m.
East Valley Institute of Technology
Health & Sciences Building Auditorium
1601 W. Main Street, Mesa
Opportunities for public involvement will occur throughout the project development process. Those unable to attend the meetings may send their comments to Erin LeSueur Seibel at 602-495-8213 or eseibel@metrolightrail.org.
