Just one more week to catch the Spring Training Trolley in Tempe. The free trolley runs every 20 minutes from the Mill Avenue District and the Tempe Marketplace. It’s been perfect baseball weather, so get in some more spring baseball while you can!

This week’s pics of the week are a couple of shots from one of my Spring Training excursions. I highly recommend it. :)

When I rode the trolley from Mill Avenue it was VERY quick, easy and convenient.

Tempe is introducing the free Angels Baseball Spring Training Trolley, which will transport baseball fans to Tempe Diablo Stadium for each Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim home game. Beginning March 6 and continuing through April 1 on game days, fans will be picked up and dropped off at two locations in Tempe, the Mill Avenue District and Tempe Marketplace

The Mill Avenue Trolley picks riders up at 5th and Mill. It’s easily accessed from the light rail station on Mill Avenue, as well.

So, the Arizona Aloha Festival was this weekend. It’s a big hit around here. In fact, my family and I have enjoyed it for the past few years. You might say, it’s highly addictive.

Next weekend brings another cool event to Tempe Beach Park, the Arizona Aloha Festival. Tens of thousands of people will head to the festival for good food, music, shopping and fun. This family-friendly event will give you a great taste of the islands, don’t miss it.

My wife and I were at the Downtown Phoenix Market recently when I took this week’s “pic of the week.” I actually took the photo to remind my friend Justin that we are overdue for a Happy Hour at the Market.

Come to think of it, we are ALL probably overdue for a Happy Hour at the Market. Talk about one of the best deals in town… Grab a 6 pack of brew, some tasty grub and some friends, and you have the makings of a pretty darn good happy hour.

Rail Life Pic Of The Week – Music on Mill is a post from: Rail Life

This weeks pic of the week is a poor shot of a talented artist. Hey, I never claimed to be a photographer…

This past Thursday, I was on Mill Avenue hanging with a bunch of geeks when I hear this guy singing a familiar song. Like many people, I just kind of half-way paid attention and kept walking. On our way back to the train, we passed the guy again and he was doing another song that I thought was really good. I gave my kids a couple of bucks to throw into his guitar case, we listened for a bit and then headed home.

If you don’t know about Music on Mill, you should probably check it out. I’ve noticed all kinds of different artists. This guys name was Todd Owens and he was performing near Rula Bula, just a block or so south of the Mill Avenue light rail station.

Rail Life Pic Of The Week – January Boat Rides Don’t Suck is a post from: Rail Life

I took this pic a few weeks ago when I was down by Tempe Town Lake with my kids. Yesterday, I was reminded about it when talking to my cousin who lives in Chicago. Interestingly enough, it was a gorgeous day in Tempe today. High 70’s with plenty of sunshine and a nice breeze is hard to beat. In Chicago? Scattered snow flurries, probably a bit chilly on the lake.

Go on out and enjoy the weather. Take a walk, rent a boat, have some fun.. If you live near the light rail line, just exit at the Mill Avenue station and head North to the lake. Easy as pie…

While Tyler is a bit shy, he has agreed to a tweet-up and I found a great happy hour spot for this coming week. Yes, it is light rail friendly, and yes, you are invited.
