As expected, the September of 2010 light rail ridership numbers were over the million mark for the second consecutive month. In fact, September was the second highest month on record. Each category posted record or near record numbers
Totals look like this:
Total Boardings for September: 1,179,952 vs 1,027,760 in August
Avg. Weekday Boardings: 44,577 vs 38,137 in August
Avg Saturday Boardings: 35,325 vs 26,460 in August
Avg Sunday / Holiday Boardings: 20,506 vs 16,579 in August
For the month of September 2009, the total boardings were 1,054,286 with an average weekday ridership of 40,772.
The weather is getting nice and a lot of events are planned along the line during the next several months. Demand and ridership is expected to be strong once again.
