Public opportunity to ride light rail December 13th!

by Rail Life on December 10, 2008

Would you like a chance ride the light rail prior to the Grand Opening on December 27th?

Many people have asked me how they can get a chance to ride the trains before opening day and this just might be the chance you are waiting for.

On Saturday, December 13th, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is inviting people to celebrate the holiday season, light the City's Christmas Tree and view the Hanukkah menorah at Cesar Chavez Plaza. After the event, there will be a FREE light rail ride for the first 500 people at 7:00 pm, 7:15 pm and 7:30 pm. This information is available on Mayor Gordon's web site and was provided to us by our friends at "Friends of Transit" where you can also find a link to the Mayor's information and invitation. For more information, please call the City of Phoenix at 602-262-7111.
