If you make $65.3 million, do you ride light rail?

by Rail Life on August 22, 2008

It was reported in the paper this morning that Richard Adkerson of Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. had a compensation package of $65.3 million for 2007. I believe Freeport's corporate office is currently located at One North Central which is right next to the light rail stop at Washington/Central Ave. It made us wonder if Mr. Adkerson is looking forward to the opening of light rail as much as we are. Heck, I bet many of his employees will enjoy the fact that they can ride light rail. How convenient to use at lunch; Freeport's employees can just walk out the door and head to their favorite light rail restaurant. While the Washington stop is practically right outside their door, it is a North bound train. The closest south bound train would be a whole block away at 1st Avenue. I wonder if a limo could drive the boss to that stop? Yep, at Rail Life, we can't wait till' December to see how many people ride the rail.

You don’t have the information and Lt. Rail does not have the information, there are no signs up at light rail stations. I would like to know how long from 19th Ave and Camelback to the Convention Center?
